A thought on Noel Cambrian

When I first began writing Theory of the Atheist, I actually wasn’t intending Noel to be anything more than an icon that helped the story segue into the needs of the true protagonist; Lain Baular.
The best laid plans of mice and men. This daring, emotional female turned into an explosive entity that forced plans into motion in such a way I had no choice but to make her a genuine highlight. She became every bit the budding revolution that Baular had hoped to generate on his own.
As I composed her struggle, Noel took on new life. Suddenly she made her own plot, her own choices, comments, and thoughts that I became a mere third party to. While I took control of less dynamic personas in the story, Noel continued to respond and react in unexpected ways. As Lain later thinks; she is a coward and a hero at the strangest moments, and that is what I love about her. Genuinely, I adore this creature, and look forward to seeing her inflict war upon a static world.
What side of the Alias war will you stand on? Be you Human or Replicant?
